I really like Dark Mode; but not always.
I've been really happy with my iPhone 12 Pro Max's OLED screen. I also really like that with that OLED the Dark Mode portion of the iOS. If you have an iPhone, or even an Android phone (I assume those have a dark mode too - and I'm sure Android's had that before iPhones).
But I really like dark mode, and not everyone has a dark mode. I really have been searching out places that use dark mode.
the iPhone's Display Settings
I currently utilize the Sunset-Sunrise Dark Mode-Light Mode settings. That means when the sun rises my phone switches to light mode (white background - black text). And during sunset my phone switches to dark mode (black background - white text). And so does this website. As I was writing this site, I found the ability to automatically switch from dark mode to light mode based on your system, and that has just put me on this dark mode automatic path.
Let's take this as an example:
Dark Mode - this paragraph is in dark mode, no matter your system preference. I currently utilize the Sunset-Sunrise Dark Mode-Light Mode settings. I also have been interested in finding a news organization that allowed a dark mode, and of course Apple has Apple News, so in the coming weeks I'll be checking that out more.
Fox News does have a semi dark mode, meaning they aren't using black. Fox News is using a dark blue and darker colors, just not full black. This is nice and this works well. Just not a full dark - black background.

So, no matter your political swing, the CNN app doesn't have a dark mode..
But, neither do many other places. But Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, IGN, and so much more do. Some give you the option.
That is personal preference, but for me: I really like to make it so that users don't have to make any choices. I've learned that in my time as an IT Help Desk anything that makes the user experience any simpler that would be better. SO that's why I turn on Dark Mode automatically based on their system settings.
So, try out your own dark mode!
