But then again, I don't love wearing a watch. I've always been a fan of watches and since 2015 ,when the Apple Watch was released, I have worn the Apple Watch nearly everyday. As of a few years ago, I've dipped my toes into Automatic and Quartz watches. But truly, my preference is for comfort, and the most comfortable I've been is when I don't wear a watch at all. Now, I also struggle with the loss of functionality while not wearing a watch.
I currently have an Apple Watch Series 5 in Space Gray, and a Seiko SRPE51K1 Automatic Seiko 5 Sports. I love them both. But the functionality of an Apple Watch is unmatched. But disconnecting from my phone with the Seiko Automatic watch, I just love that feeling. Knowing the time and date in a beautiful dial, that is unmatched. In my time, I also wore a Timex Weekender: a $25 watch that was nearly perfect!

I got an Apple Watch nearly as soon as it was released in 2015. This is me in 2017 with my Apple Watch, then not named a specific Series. Now known as the Series 0.

Thanks to my beautiful wife, for Christmas, she got me a Series 3 Apple Watch! I made a review video as well!

Then I cracked my Apple Watch.. I was experiencing some issues with the Watch Bands that I was wearing and I decided to take it off my wrist and hold it while getting things out of the car.. and then... drop on the concrete driveway. I guess I've lost the picture of it, but I cracked my Apple Watch Series 3 that my wife got me for Christmas.. so sad.
Once I broke that screen I decided I was going all "real watch", and I got a Timex Weekender, a $25 watch! It worked really well, I enjoyed the 24 "dial" because it was another 12 hour marker inside the outside 12 hour marker.
Timex Weekender
Loved this watch, and I think my perfect watch would be a watch with a date. Maybe even a GMT function, but I don't have much use for a GMT function because I don't really need to track any other timezones, I thought it might be neat to have that as an option.
Of course, my wife again and I decided it was time to upgrade! We both got Series 5 watches for Christmas in 2019!

This was an amazing upgrade from the Series 3, a bigger screen and an always on display! The functionality of the Apple Watch, as I've said is just incredible. From one screen, or the ask of a wrist raise from Siri: weather, sunset, calendar, emails, phone calls, messages, heart rate, and literally so much more. The Apple Watch is just an incredible piece of technology.
I can't get over how functional the Apple Watch is compared to "real watches", and that is just astounding. Using the Apple Watch everyday is a good idea, if you don't have full use of your hands (like a dad does - carrying your children or such, as I). This is why I struggle with not wearing the Apple Watch. I love the Apple Watch, but sometimes it hurts me.. haha.
I struggle some with some bands on the Apple Watch that give me some pain in my wrist. I believe it's because some of those bands just make my wrist so tight, but I'm not sure. That's the big thing on why I don't wear my Apple Watch everyday. I also love the look and style of Automatic Watches.

That's where the Seiko comes in..

I love the look of this watch. Both Day and Date, with the time. The Lume is superb on this watch. And that's about it with this watch. I can read the time, day and date. That's where I miss the Apple Watch.
I love watches, and I also love not wearing watches. How about you?
