My Thoughts

Oh wow, oh wow. This is an amazing movie! I have been really enjoying reading fantasy novels, and I read the Hobbit earlier this year! Check out my review here: The Hobbit Review, I gave it a 4/5, but I loved the story! In my lifetime, I've probably seen these movies 10 times. I love them so much, and I look forward to reading the novels soon!

THIS IS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE

Notes as I Watched

Oh boy oh boy! “You shall be the fellowship of the ring… great, where are we going?” Oh Bilbo.. This movie is so much better than when I was younger, I can really understand what’s going on.. so good. Mordor Gandalf, is it left or right? Hahahah. Strider is such a cool name, as is Aragorn. Fly you fools. I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox.. oh! The dwarf breathes so loud, we could have shot him in the dark. How may did you eat?.. four.. burp hahah! Oh Boromir.. no! No Boromir, you fought bravely..

Does it Hold Up?

I've always loved this question, when it comes to older movies or books, or anything that is older. And absolutely this holds up! If you love fantasy, you could watch this forever. The CGI, also holds up, a bit. The film is beautiful!

Some of my Favorite Characters

Sam, Gimli, Aragorn, and Frodo. Possibly in that order.. wow. I love the way Aragorn interacts with the Hobbits, and everyone else. I love that he is the heir king to Gondor, but hides it. Gimli is hilarious.. and I loved his grandfather in the Hobbit, Gloin! I appreciate that callback as well. Oh Boromir, you've redeemed yourself with "my captain, my king".

The Ring

Okay, so I know the ring can turn Biblo and Frodo invisible, but what else can it do? I guess I need to read the story, but I'm okay with only knowing that is turns you invisible.. at least I think that's all it does. I truly don't know the full effect of the ring.

Extended Edition

I don't know what was extended about this, but I always watch the extended edition because it's just SO GOOD!

The Ending!

I had completely forgotten about this ending! Oh man! I love these pulling people out of water scenes, it will never get old! Also, I love Sam. What a good guy. Sam is an amazing fried.

The Score (Music)

What an incredible score, the beauty of the simplicity in the flutes and orchestra. Perfect. OH MY GOSH THIS IS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE!

Using the Hobbit as a Prequel

I think this movie did a great job at the little hints of using the Hobbit as it's prequel. As I said, I've not read the Lord of The Rings and only the Hobbit, but this has some great callbacks to that story! The Trolls, the Ring, the There and Back again story! So good!
