LOTR: The Two Towers (Extended Edition) Movie Review

My Thoughts
As I said in my Fellowship of the Ring Movie Review, I love Sam! He is such a good guy! I'm so interested to read these novels to see the different perspectives! I am guessing the Fellowship Novel is more from Frodo's perspective really, not like with these split up teams. Beautiful movie.
The Orcs
Interesting thing, the Orcs. In the first movie we didn't get much to do about the Orcs, and now, they talk. And maybe I'd want them to be either more smart or less smart. But the way there is supposedly one who is smart, I don't know, maybe I'm thinking to much about it... Turns out, we only got that for a very brief few scenes. And what we got was fine!
Sauruman
The Fellowship of the Ring didn't have enough of Saruman. But here we go! This is what I like to see! Sauruman is so good.. well bad, but a good bad guy. After completing, we didn't get much of Sauruman, so we'll see about Return of the King.
Gollum
Oh Gollum.. what a unique character. Really holding the movie together for me. What a great character. I felt so bad for Gollum when he was getting beaten.
Ringwraiths
A little less Ringwraiths to start in this film. And Wraiths on dragons!
The Ring
I still don't really know what the Ring does and why it's so important, yes it is the Ring of Power, but what does that mean?
Okay, this helped... The One Ring was forged by the Dark Lord Sauron during the Second Age to gain dominion over the free peoples of Middle-earth. In disguise as Annatar, or "Lord of Gifts", he aided the Elven smiths of Eregion and their leader Celebrimbor in the making of the Rings of Power. He then forged the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom. Sauron intended it to be the most powerful of all Rings, able to rule and control those who wore the others. Since the other Rings were powerful on their own, Sauron was obliged to place much of his own power into the One to achieve his purpose. Creating the Ring simultaneously strengthened and weakened Sauron. With the Ring, he could control the power of all the other Rings, and thus he was significantly more powerful after its creation than before; but by binding his power within the Ring, Sauron became dependent on it.
From.. The One Ring Wikipedia.
Gandalf the White!
He's ALIVE! "I am Sauruman or rather Sauruman as I should have been." interesting. "I am Gandalf the White". I love the way he can hide as Gandalf the Grey then take his robe off and show his white robes.
Gimli
Gimli is so funny, he's so good too. "This new Gandalf is more grumpy than the old one." HA!
Treebeard
I LOVE TREE BEARD
The Battle at Helms Deep
Just great stuff! These sword sounds are so good, truly. What an incredible battle. So triumphant. Amazing and epic. Really taking it's time, and I like that.
The Musical Score
Again, this score.. wow. A masterpiece.
Notes as I Watch
The Orcs are turning this movie from a 5/5 to a 4/5 for me. (32 minutes in) A 4.hour.runtime. oh.my.goodness. I love Treebeard, the Ent! (41 minutes in) Gollum bringing the movie back up to a 5/5. (45 minutes in) WRONG, THIS MOVIE IS A TOTAL 5/5... LOVE IT SO MUCH (110 minutes in) CG a little noticeable.. (114 minutes in) CG very bad.. especially when it comes to the Hobbits. (136 minutes in) FOR GONDOR! The Wilhelm scream... oh no Haldir!! NO!! Someone we just met, and care almost nothing about.. Aragorn and Gimli jump... WHAT A GOOD MOVIE Oh the Ents! You love to see it. From my recollection, I believe the Ents were in The Hobbit book, and I loved them then, and I love them now. YES SAM. TELL FARAMIR! (190 minutes in) OH THE CG!
