0.3 miles there, 0.3 miles back.
I did it! And I learned a few things.
One, my legs are not ready for a 12 mile ride a day. I wasn’t in “pain”, but it’s going to take some time for my legs to be ready for the Bike Commuting to work.
So, I road on a road that wasn’t too busy at the time of riding, but I had 5 cars pass me. That was scary. It had just recently rained, but the roads weren’t wet. There were no puddles.
I was tasked with getting some chips and a sprite for my wife. How would you carry that on a bike?
I chose to carry that with a drawstring backpack. Now this is not your average drawstring backpack. This drawstring backpack has pockets! And two beverage pouches!
My way back was quick and safe. I took less traveled roads, and I made it back safe and sound.
I’m not sure when my next ride will be, but I’ll more than likely take to the track. Try to put in a few miles and see how that goes!
Eventually I’ll be doing a test ride to work, preferably on the weekend with less traffic.
