Written Review

Now we're back at it! David was a small piece of the game, but a big emotional impact to the game. This was an amazing episode!

Spoiler Alert

THIS EPISODE IS TENSE

Wow this episode is scary. Also very quotable. And we get the fire scene. David is so scary and gross and Ellie is awesome.

David

DAVID IS SCARY! Great actor portrayal. VERY SCARY. And his death is INCREDIBLE.

Scott Shepherd as David

Troy Baker as James!

Well I am impressed that we get to see Troy Baker making an appearance.. if you don't know, Troy Baker was the voice of Joel in the game! And with that James is gone.

ELLIE

Ellie does not disappoint. ELLIE WOW. THIS EPISODE. WOW.

The Eating Scene

HOLY COW. If you know you know, and they'd been hinting at this most of the episode so far. When the girl asked to bury her father, David said "in the Spring.. ground's too hard right now." - THEY WERE GOING TO EAT THIS MAN, cut him up and eat him. And then we get this eating scene where they were going to make food and the woman asks (the man's widow btw), "What is this?" and he replies "Venison.". NO WAY GIRL IS THAT VENISON... THAT IS YOUR HUSBAND!

If that shock hasn't taken you, this respect? I'm not sure what else to call it, but everyone has to wait to eat until David sits down and has a plate. AND THEN James (Troy Baker) is hesitant to eat the meat... because he knows it's man meat! This is crazy.

JOEL

Well this took a turn. GOOD GRIEF. JOEL IS A BEAST.

ELLIE V DAVID

Words can not express the last 4 minutes of this episode. THIS WAS INCREDIBLE. This scene was crazy.

Joel and Ellie Returned

Beautiful. Ellie was so scared and Joel was there to comfort her with "baby girl". THIS WAS PERFECT.

Score

I'm trying a new way of reviewing, by implementing a new way to review - using a format taken from 2toRamble! And that’s the system! Rate those 5 categories out of 5, average your score, and that’s your /5 Rambler Rating! You can rate each category to the nearest hundredth, tenth, whole number, or whatever you please.

Well good grief, this was an absolute monster of an episode. Wow. And the score comes out to 4.6 out of 5. And I like to round up and that makes a 5 out of 5!

Emotional Impact 5
A STAND OUT OF THE SEASON FOR SURE! Bringing the heat just before the end of the season.
Characters 5
A STAND OUT OF THE SEASON FOR SURE! Bringing the heat just before the end of the season.
Plot 5
THIS WAS SUPERB. Great story all around. Scary. Exciting. Tense.
Dialogue / Prose 5
David. That's it. That's all. Well maybe Joel too, and really Ellie too. Wow.
Cinematography / World Building 4
Outstanding, not too much world building persay, because we didn't have much of the world explored here, but average cinematography.
