The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan ReRead Review
Started Reading 2025.04.29. Finished Reading 2025.05.14.
Returning to The Eye of the World felt like coming home to something grand and familiar—yet still full of mystery. Even knowing where the story is headed, I was completely swept up again in the depth of the world, the richness of the characters, and the tension in every twist. Jordan’s storytelling is masterful, laying down the foundation for an epic while keeping the stakes intensely personal.
This time through, I found myself noticing more—the early hints, the worldbuilding depth, the character dynamics that I missed the first time because I was racing through pages just to see what happened next. There’s a rhythm to Jordan’s writing that draws you in and doesn't let go. Every page feels purposeful.
A lot of people compare this series to The Lord of the Rings, and yes, the influence is there—but The Wheel of Time quickly carves its own path. It’s not a copy—it’s a reimagining of epic fantasy on a massive scale, with its own voice and vision.
This book remains a must-read for fantasy fans. The magic system is fascinating, the world feels lived in, and the characters grow in real, meaningful ways. Whether you’re just starting the journey or coming back for a second (or third) time, The Eye of the World continues to deliver.
